Flood report on the granting of state financial aid
In September 2021, the states of North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate each issued administrative regulations on, among other things, the granting of state financial aid to companies to repair the damage caused by the heavy rainfall and flooding on 14 and 15 July 2021.
The aid will be granted in the form of an equitable payment of up to 80% of the eligible costs.
The minimum amount of damage per business premises must be €5,000.
The following types of damage are eligible for aid
- Material damage based on the cost of repair ("repair costs")
- Material damage based on the economic value of the affected asset before the natural disaster ("compensation")
- Loss of income as a direct consequence of the natural disaster for a maximum period of
a maximum period of six months after the natural disaster
("income replacement")
A prerequisite for obtaining compensation is the submission of a report by a publicly appointed and sworn expert.
As a publicly appointed and sworn expert for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) for the Cologne Chamber of Industry and Commerce, we can assess the above damage and quantify the total loss to your business.
